Prof. Xianyong Xiao, Sichuan University(President of College of Electrical Engineering)

Prof. Xianyong Xiao, Dean of School of Electrical Engineering, Sichuan University, Director of Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Smart Grid, Deputy Director of Provincial Key Laboratory of Power Quality, Sichuan University. The main research directions are power quality and high-quality power, smart grid and power grid security, superconducting power, etc. Professor Xiao is a member of IEEE Senior Member, IEEE Standardization Committee, Vice Chairman of IEEE China Superconducting Committee, CIGRE / CIRED JWG C4.42 Communication Committee ; director and senior member of China Electrical Engineering Society ; member of China Electric Power Industry Standards Committee ; director of Sichuan Electrical Engineering Society, member and Secretary-General of Academic Working Committee ; director of Sichuan Electrical Technology Society. As of March 2026, Professor Xiao 

Xianyong presided over more than 100 projects such as two key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, general projects and national power grid and southern power grid. It has won the first prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award, one each, the China Patent Award for Excellence and more than 10 other provincial and ministerial awards.

Prof. Shunli Wang, Inner Mongolia University of Technology (RSA Fellow, IET Fellow)

Prof. Shunli Wang is a doctoral supervisor, academic dean, academic leader of the National Electrical Safety Quality Inspection Center, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, provincial-level overseas high-level talent, provincial-level science and technology talent of Tianfu Qingcheng, academic and technical leader of China Science and Technology City, and among the world’s top 2% of scientists. Closely aligned with the major national strategic needs of the new energy and energy storage system industry, his research focuses on green and low-carbon energy storage in smart grids. Leveraging platforms such as the Academician Expert Workstation for Large-Scale Energy Storage Technology, the National Electrical Safety Quality Inspection Center, the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Large-Scale Energy Storage Technology, the New Energy Measurement and Control Research Center, the Engineering Research Center for Power Energy Storage System Operation Control Technology, and the Hydrogen Energy and Multi-Energy Complementary Microgrid Engineering Technology Research Center, he has established an industry-university-research collaborative Smart Energy Storage Research Institute. He collaborates with organizations including State Grid, Injet Electric, Xingchu Century, Changhong Runtian Energy, Liwang New Energy, and Neware, dedicated to advancing national-level platform development, building an internationally influential innovation team, undertaking national and international research projects, and cultivating high-level innovative talents to enhance the core competitiveness of China’s new energy industry.

He has led 56 projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 258 articles in journals including SCI Q1 top-tier journals, with an RIS of 11,617 and an h-index of 29. He has been granted 52 intellectual property rights including patents and standards, and has authored 9 international books published by renowned publishers such as Elsevier and IET. His book New Energy Technology and Power Supply Management has sold 6,300 copies and been reprinted four times. He has supervised 29 student science and technology innovation projects, 6 of which were rated as outstanding. His students have won 34 awards in science and technology competitions. He has received 13 science and technology awards, including a Gold Medal at the 48th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. He has served as chair of 17 international conferences and as an editorial board member for 4 international journals. He has organized three editions of the International Conference on New Energy and Energy Storage Systems. He has been recognized as part of an academician workstation team and a military-civilian integration innovation team. His achievements have been assessed as internationally advanced and have been reported by People's Daily.

Assoc. Prof. Pinjia Zhang, Tsinghua University, China (National Young Award winners)

Pinjia Zhang is currently an associate professor, doctoral supervisor and national outstanding winner of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 2006, and then studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States. He received his doctorate in 2010. After graduation, Dr.  worked as a senior engineer and project manager at GE Global Research headquarters. In 2015, he was hired as a special researcher of Tsinghua University. He returned to China to teach in the Department of Electrical Machinery of Tsinghua University and is currently the Associate Dean of the Department of Electrical Machinery. It is mainly engaged in the research on the reliability of large-capacity power electronics and electrical equipment, focusing on online monitoring and health management of electrical equipment. It has undertaken several projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R & D Program. He has won the IEEE Industrial Application Society Outstanding Youth Achievement Award, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Chinese Electrical Technology Society, and the Geneva International Invention Gold Award. At present, more than 100 academic papers have been published, and 70 invention patents have been authorized at home and abroad.
